Gen 13 ( 1995)
I have never read this Mini -Series ( but its another one I seriously want to get my hands on because  of the Sweet , sweet Art by Adam Hughes ^_^ ) I did read his Issues of Tomb Raider he did for Top Cow ( he had written and did Variant Covers for ) and his Issue of the Wildcats /X-Men crossover from 1996  .  now Gen 13 I had gotten into by way of the Valiant /Image comics crossover Deathmate …issue Deathmate Black from 1993 . and later buying a used Trade paperback called Gen 13 starting Over ( vol 2 issues 1 to 7 ) with all of the variant covers in the back of the book :D .it was a fun read ( I still go back and re-read it for the J.Scott Campbell art and the 2 Jim Lee issues and the Debut of DV8 . another trade I want to get my hands on for the simple fact that Warren Ellis had written it ^_^ anyways I found this Ad in the Alan Moore written mini series Spawn /Wildcats issue 1 . ( another comic I go back and re-read from Wildstorm`s Pre DC Comics buying the right . ) its funny I have Alan Moore written image comics ( ironically Spawn ,  1 issue of Wildcats ,1963 ) for example I do admire the Creative Gusto ,Zeal and willingness to just for for it and create fun , action packed comics .
I also later on watched the Gen 13 animated movie and enjoyed it all the same . :D

Cyberforce # 3 ( 1993) art by Marc Silvestri
I will be honest that I have never read this issue but I would like too :D one of these days . this ad does all of the fun things comics used to do well back in the day give you an image where you have a question that captures a would be readers interest to pick it up to see if it lives up to its full potential . but I do like Marc Silvestri`s art during the 90s it was (and still is ) full of Raw Kinetic energy complemented by Scott Williams`s Inks and special props to the colorist who colored all of the Early Image comics from 1992 . :D

Wildstar :Sky Zero ad ( from 1992 )
Art by Jerry Ordway and Al Gordon
I will admit I did enjoy his first couple of Fights with Savage Dragon during Image comics`s hayday . I wish he would have gotten an Action Figure back in the day ( he`s looks perfect for one and his cast of characters ) so Jerry Ordway & Al Gordon bring back Wildstar as another Mini-series like you did back in the 90s ^_^ Wildstar ( to me ) is a character who has a very interesting and striking look and backstory that really draws a reader of comics into . but its nice to see him show up in Savage Dragon every now and then . :D
but I like how this Promo really catches your eye ( I am mostly looking at the coloring here its marvelous )

Nightstalkers ad from 1992art by Ron Garney this was my first comic I ever read with Blade ( Pre the 1st 2 movies which I like ) I personally think this was his best look ( namely from watching him in animated form on Spider-Man the Animated series ) I can say I grew up with 90s era blade ..but I did go back and read Black and White Phone Book sized re-prints of the Tomb of Dracula .

Batman ( from Batman the Animated series ) or my subtle attempt at doing a riff on Bruce Timm`s icon art style ^_^  love the look of that show so much it tends to influence my other work so . but still this is the Batman I was so used to pre-New 52  . so I look at this an Homage to an By Gone era of the Animated version of the Dark Knight .

the Reign of the Supermen ( post death and return Era ) basically its the superman I grew up reading as a snot nose kid ( also obsessively watching Batman Animated series and later Superman animated series during that time in the mid 90s ^_^ ) represented here in all of their Post Crisis Glory are Steel , Supergirl (Matrix) ,Superman with the long Hair ,Superboy and the Eradicator . I will admit I was watching Lois and Clark a lot during this time along with watching all of the christopher reeve 70s /80s movies ( I love the 1st 2 movies …mostly number 2 because of the Awsomeness of Zod ( Kneel Before Zod ) but you can say I am a little bit of a superman fan , it was superman the animated series that sold me on the big blue boy scout because of how well written it was by Paul Dini ,Bruce Timm and many others , also their clever re-inventions of Superman`s rouges gallery such as Toyman , Parasite and Metallo introduction of Mercy Graves ( she instantly became my favorite next to Harley back then ) Livewire , Lobo and Jack Kirby`s  Fourth World characters and Mythos ) also their version of Lex Luthor ..so many things about that show has stuck with me since this day ..namely the sleek art style , the Score by Shirley Walker …basically Superman Animated series was my perfect on scene version of Superman and his world . but I do enjoy the comics from this era ( both Pre Death of Superman and Post death ) it was my sweet spot . anyways lets celebrate metropolis Finest.
( P.S Peter David`s supergirl was one of my favorite books that made me care about supergirl ….I hated that terrible movie from the mid 80s..-_- when I would watch it too as a Kid in the 90s )

Daredevil the Man without Fear !!!  ( I have been inspired by the Work of Mark Waid , Chris Samnee and Javier Rodriguez ..also lets not forget Paolo Rivera and Marcos Martin`s pitch perfect art at the very start of this steller run  ^_^ ) Great stuff , the best title along with a few others ( All New X-Factor , Spider-Man 2099 and Superior Spider-Man in the All New Marvel line up ) but I have a soft spot for She-Hulk because of the art of Javier Pulido on the book . but hey Daredevil guess starred in her book a few issues a go so its all good ^_^ ( 2 crime fighting lawyers in L.A.) but thank`s to Mark Waid and his various collaborators have gotten me interested in DD again . hell I am waiting on the premier of the Daredevil Netflix mini series :D  also not to mention Captain Marvel written by Kelly Sue .

and Here is my version of the 90s Jim Lee ( pre-Image comics ) era X-Men . but to me mostly I was thinking of the 1992 X-Men Animated series versions of these characters .. I drew this one too while I was sick in the Hospital , I will admit I was watching nearly every episode on Netflix while I was stuck in bed at the time ( 3 months ago ) it brought back Memories of 4 year old me watching this cartoon on Saturday morning eating a bowl of cereal .
this show is where I was introduced to the characters as a child and it was glorious and dont get me started with the Toy Biz Figures , but yeah this show ,Batman Animated series and 90s Spidey Animated series and many others …but X-Men was the one that got me obsessed with comics later on . all I can say about the 90s era x-men is that it was very Operatic , very melodramatic and very Crossover heavy ( well in the comics I was reading at the time ) but I enjoyed every minute of it as a child . Back then Wolverine was my favorite x-man simply because he was the guy who did not take shit from anybody and was fearless and I Liked his Yellow Tiger striped costume was pretty rad ( still so now , but I liked the Brown & Tan Costume which I was first introduced to in Chris & Jim record breaking issue # 1 of Adjective-less X-Men .)  now these days I favor Cyclops but I liked his costume as designed by Jim Lee too ( to my young mind back then I thought he always had that costume it was that definitive in my mind ..I blame the cartoon for me thinking that was his only suit ^_^ ) I liked Jean`s costume a little but I was not all that Jazzed about it , I loved Psylocke`s Ninja look from this era Jim Lee made it Sing in her lighting fast Movements in his fight scenes in his issues of Uncanny and X-Men during this time , I liked gambit but he never grew on me as a fan favorite till years later watching him on the cartoon but he too I liked his Look and Attitude , Always flirting with rouge every chance he got both on the Cartoon and in the Comics . and Rouge`s costume (as designed by Jim Lee is another that is Burnt into my mind as her Definitive costume ..but after reading various reprints and back issues of her earlier appearances in X-Men I have a fondness for her 1st Appearance all green and white bodysuit and Hood and the later John Romita Jr and Marc Silverstri 80s Punk Look with the Big Hair . ( it was the Inferno , Outback stuff I got into heavy when I made the leap into reading X-Men comics as Teen it captured my over active imagination back then and my interest was as at an all time high because of the 1st 2 movies that came out around 2000 and 2003 ) but in short the 90s x-men team means alot to me from basically growing up with the cartoon , the action figures and the Comics .
in my brain this era is like my default team since age 4 . well that is untill I discovered and read both Grant Morrison`s New X-Men run , Mark Millar`s Ultimate X-Men and the WB revamp cartoon X-Men Evolution back then .
so Long Live 90s X-Men and their various Spin off books and dizzying X-Overs ( Fatal Attractions , Eve of Destruction , the Magneto War , Bloodties , Phalanx Covenant , Xcutioner`s Song and Many others )
^_^

this is my Interpretation of the Post John Byrne / Dave Cockrum , Paul Smith  Illustrated era of the Uncanny X-Men in the early 80s , you know after the titanic events such as Phoenix Saga and the Days of Futures past . I really like Rouge`s first costume ( as designed by Micheal Golden from her 1st Appearance in Avengers Annual # 10 ) and Wolverine`s Brown and Tan costume as Designed by Byrne . I remember reading X-Men Classics reprints of the earlier X-Men stories as masterfully written by Chris Claremont in his prime . as I was drawing this team all I could think about their many wild and adventurous tales like the 1st arc of the Brood Saga , Cyclops leaving the team , Storm battling Callisto besting her in combat and taking over leadership of the Morlocks . Carol Danvers became Binary ( this is where I began my fascination with the character beyond just from what I saw in the 90s cartoon as the person in whom rouge gained her powers of Flight and superhuman endurance ) to me this was like my sweet spot of the X-Men during this time ( all thanks to reprints and phone-book sized collections ) from my High School Libary back in 2003-2004 .

I sketched /Doodled this while I was sick in the Hospital 3 months ago as something to keep myself busy ^_^  that and I missed my old random X-Men collection of books back home . I did all of this with colored pencil and a sharpie .

Here is a Little Rat Queens Fan Art I made .  Here I homage one of my favorite Image Comics from the golden age of my Youth from 1992 .
Its my Re-Interpretation of Erik Larsen`s the Savage Dragon # 1 ( from 92) I added a little bit of Kirby Tech in the Background to give this a little more energy . but Here I wanted to show Violet Cheerfully charging into Battle like its the 90s . the old 70s marvel style Banner was Inspired both by Savage Dragon ..this Savage World arc that began in issue # 75  and the side corner box displaying the rest of the rat queens I was inspired by old 90s Marvel corner boxes ( I miss them in comics these days )  anyways Enjoy the Bloody 1st Issue . ^_^

I drew Lucy from Kieron Gillen and Jamie Mckelvie`s New Image Comics Series the Wicked + the Divine . I read issues # 1 & 2 and so far its everything I enjoyed from their earlier Image mini series Phonogram (both volumes 1 and 2 ) . I Lucy`s Rebellious attitude and David Bowie inspired Fashion sense . and the Hair was fun to draw :D I mean just look at it ..its 100 kinds of Kick Ass . also she can control dark magic (to me she is the Loki of the Book ) a Trickster with a Black Heart of Gold .
this was homage to Erik Larsen`s Savage Dragon this savage world arc and early 80s marvel comics .
anyways enjoy her enthusiasm for property destruction !

Hello Again everybody , I would like to present my latest Ultraverse (pre black September versions ) vs Marvel Characters (and 90s Marvel characters ) and in this case I decided to showcase another wild battle /pairing of two warrior women from different dimension in the Marvel Universe .
first up is Mantra hailing from the Ultraverse (pre marvel buy out /pre Black September aka Unwarranted Marvelization of the Ultraverse about 1995 /96)  her origin is about an Eternal Warrior named Lukasz & his Compatriots who was locked in a battle with an Villain named Boneyard (who would later show up on the Ultraverse Cartoon`s last 2 episodes ) , anyways whenever Lukasz & one of his solders dies in combat  their souls would put into another body  to continue their battle against boneyard . in the 90s  Lukasz`s leader  Archmage was betrayed and captured , which lead to most  of Lukasz`s fellow solders to  die permanently  in combat, which would lead to Lukasz dying in combat and being re-incarnated in the Body of Eden  Blake . and from there he had to deal with Eden`s life as a Divorced single mother of 2 children   , along with  her trials and tribulations of living life as a woman . Lukasz discovers Eden`s Vast  Hidden powers which also equips /fashions her Mystical Armor by a specific invocation including the word ‘mantra (which the media of the Ultraverse called her such ) also it was Mantra`s series which lead to the Inclusion of Topaz who would go on to battle Mantra and later she would join Ultraforce . over all I find Mantra to being an Interesting character of the Ultraverse because of her rich and complex back-story & Visual design . I wish she would have gotten an Action figure during the 90s (hell I still think Mantra deserves one made today ) also I liked the whole Prime /Kevin Green having a crush on Mantra thing in their ealier crossovers ( also the Whole Break Tru storyline is one of my favorites and Mantra`s crossovers with Prime`s series during that time too . I will admit I miss Eden Blake / Lukasz  . shame what they did to the character post Black September by replacing her with a teenage high school cheerleader valley girl type . other than that I also like who Mantra had her own Evil version of herself named Necro Mantra . I believe some of that had taken place during the whole godwheel saga .
anyways on the right is the All New Captain Marvel ,  who I was familiar with from X-Men as was written by Chris Claremont during the 80s (mostly from her first run in with the Brood in space during that time which lead to her becoming Binary ) I also know her as the Person who Rouge got her Powers of Superhuman Endurance and invulnerability from along with her ability to fly .  ( this was back in Carol`s Ms Marvel Days ) I have always had a fondness for her because she was the reason for why I liked rouge as a character also a little piece of Carol was in rouge`s head for most of this time until magneto living in the savage land separated the 2 and destroyed evil carol during that time in the early 90s ) but other than that I did not read the Adventures of Carol for a long time ( well one reprint of an unpublished story where she fights Sabertooth ) or if I would play was her in Marvel Ultimate alliance , later I would read her alternate reality self in either the Age of Apocalypse Timeline or the Ultimate Universe . it was not till say 2 years ago after the whole X-Men vs Avengers aftermath had got me interested again  . during the 1st wave of all new marvel titles one that was (still is written by Kelly Sue DeConnick ) also her new costume which I took to really enjoying the design of because it was something fresh and new and Colorful . also seeing the various cosplay pics of it on tumblr had endeared me to her new look . but my favorite out of the Cosplay set was the one by Judy Stephens ( who is a photographer , Blogger ,AR Manager , cosplayer , works for Marvel ) who to me had this Perfect look as Carol / Captain Marvel . so my version here that I Illustrated is in part based on her Cosplay version of Carol with the Short hair .
now the concept for Mantra and Carol`s meeting is because of all of inter dimensional incursions happening in New Avengers written by Johnathan Hickman . have been opening up Riffs into random timelines and universes in the Marvel U . and in this Case one has opened a portal into the Ultraverse ( from the early 90s pre-black September timeline ) with Mantra suddenly thrown into the 616 Marvel universe . Captain Marvel who is on patrol responds to an Energy spike caused by Mantra upon her Arrival in the 616 . and from here we meet Manta who looks a little confused by being confronted by an Battle ready Carol who meets Mantra in the Air above NYC .
this was another Fun What if piece of Fan Art to put together . ^_^
enjoy my inter dimensional Rumble in the Concrete jungle

anyways on the right is the All New Captain Marvel ,  who I was familiar with from X-Men as was written by Chris Claremont during the 80s (mostly from her first run in with the Brood in space during that time which lead to her becoming Binary ) I also know her as the Person who Rouge got her Powers of Superhuman Endurance and invulnerability from along with her ability to fly .
